The Brantham Colour Run, held at Brantham Leisure Centre on Saturday, raised more than £2,150 for the Brantham Skatepark project.

More than 170 runners took part in the community event, which saw participants covered head-to-toe in powdered paint as they completed laps around the playing field.

Abi Edevane, one of the event organisers, said: "Saturday’s colour run far exceeded our expectations; it was clear from the smiles on everyone’s faces that they had an amazing time.

"It was so much fun to share the excitement with the participants, as we were all covered from head to toe in safe powdered paint – and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support."

The event was organised by Ms Edevane and Vicki Fletcher in partnership with Brantham Parish Council.

Ms Edevane said: "We are working extremely hard to raise the funds we need to build the skatepark, and we’ve already got a schedule of fundraising events for the next few months.

"The skatepark will be a huge asset to the local community, and we want to make our fundraisers as fun as possible for the whole family."

While the team hopes to secure funding from Babergh District Council, additional funds are needed, and their fundraising campaign continues.

Upcoming events include the Brantham Garage Sale on June 22, a sponsored scoot in September and a quiz night at The Haywain Pub and Kitchen in Manningtree on October 3.

The organisers encouraged anyone who would like to support the skatepark project or suggest fundraising ideas to get in touch.

Updates and a full schedule of events are available on the Brantham Skatepark Facebook page.
