What is Brantham Skatepark and where will it be?

Brantham Skatepark will be a purpose-built outdoor space designed for scooting, skating, and biking – right in the heart of the village. The proposed location is The Recreation Ground (The Rec), off Factory Lane, close to the Leisure Centre and the existing children’s play area.

This central spot is already well-used by local families and young people, making it an ideal location for a skatepark that’s accessible, safe, and part of our existing community space.

Design Inspiration

We’ve been working with some of the UK’s leading skatepark design companies – Wheelscape, Betong Park, and Canvas – to explore what Brantham Skatepark could look like. Each team has shared ideas based on the space available and the needs of our local community.

Here are some of the initial concepts we've been shown – these aren't final designs, but they give a sense of the style, layout and features that could be included.

What will it include?

We’re working closely with experienced UK skatepark designers to create a space that:

Fits the available space at the lower playing field in Brantham
Caters to all levels and abilities, from beginners to more experienced riders
Is inclusive and accessible to as many young people as possible
Has long-term value for the community

The early concept designs include a mix of features such as:

A bowl for flow-style riding
Ramps for all skill levels
Handrails and ledges for street-style skating
Funboxes, spine transfers, and vert rails for tricks and progression

There’s so much potential in this space – and we're working hard to get the balance right between fun, challenge, and accessibility.
